Do you suffer from acne? Try following these 5 easy steps and watch your skin transform before your eyes!
1. Benzoyl Peroxide VS Salicylic Acid
I’m sure you have heard of both of these, but do you know the difference?
Benzoyl Peroxide works quickly by killing bacteria, but also causes redness, dryness & peeling. This is NOT a preferred method of cleansing, yet so many companies use it. Why? The simple answer is, it dries out your oils glands. If you’re using this all over your face, you are helping your acne but drying out your skin! Have you ever had or heard of acne prone skin with severe dry patches? This is a major culprit! This process may seem to work in that moment, but it’s actually doing more harm than good! If your drying out your glans, your body will naturally produce more oil to keep them moist! Get where I’m going with this? You are entering your skin into a never ending battle, not a cure!
So what is Benzoyl Peroxide good for?
Spot on acne treatments! This is a great product to place directly on your breakouts, not all over your skin!
Salicylic Acid. What is it?
Salicylic acid works by exfoliating! When oil combines with dead skin cells they create a cement like paste! This cement fills your pores and creates breakouts! Salicylic gently breaks up that cement and washes it away, while reducing your pore size! This is a great solution for people with oily to acne prone skin! Salicylic acid has a calming effect and is a BHA (beta-hydroxy acid). Have you ever hear of a chemical peel? That’s right! Salicylic acid is the most common BHA! When using a cleanser with salicylic acid, you are giving your face a gentle chemical peel in the comfort of your own home!

After trying numerous well know exfoliants, I have come to find my favorite, Facial Resurfacer. This exfoliant is polished, made with volcanic ash and nangai oil, to not only scrub away dirt and debris, but to moisturize all in one!
When doing research, I have found most people are moisturizing, but not hydrating! What is the difference? EVERYTHING! Moisturizers are for your epidermis (surface layer), where as hydrators go deeper, hydrating your dermis, where your cells are being created! This is the missing key factor is most people’s routine! You have to use stabilized active ingredient for your skin care to work! Sodium hyaluronate (the salt from hyaluronic acid) is the number one best hydrator out there today!
4. Use a cleanser for YOUR skin type!
There are 4 different skin types. Dry, normal to dry, normal to oily, oily to acne. (Please comment below if you need help deciding on your skin type). If you have oily skin, you need to be using a cleanser with more oil in it! Now, I know what your thinking! I am NOT putting more oil on my already oily skin! Did you know oil combats oil? That’s exactly what you are doing here! Trust me when I say this method WORKS!
5. Clean everything your face touches!
Use an alcohol swab and wipe down your cell phone!
Frequently wash your pillow case!
Sanitize your hands!
